MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611062742 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology Pharmacy Institute on May 18, 2026, for A Method For Evaluation Of Crinum Asiaticum Against Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity In Experimental Models.

Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is a method (100) for evaluation of Crinum asiaticum against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in experimental models comprises collecting leaves of Crinum asiaticum (102). The authenticated leaves are shade-dried for a predefined duration, pulverized to obtain a coarse powder (104). The powdered material is extracted with ethanol as a solvent (106) for a predetermined period. Preliminary qualitative phytochemical screening (108) is performed to identify bioactive constituents. Cardiotoxicity is induced in experimental models by administering a predefined dose of doxorubicin (110). The Crinum asiaticum extract (112) is administered orally, while maintaining negative control, positive control, and standard treatment groups (114). After completion of the protocol, blood and cardiac tissue samples (116) are collected for analysis of serum cardiac biomarkers (118). Histopathological examination (120) of cardiac tissue is conducted, and the biochemical and histological data (122) are evaluated to determine cardioprotective efficacy.
