MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621046394 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Bombay on April 10, 2026, for A Method For Fabricating Periodic Stripe Patterns Of Nanoparticles.
Inventors include Sunita Srivastava; Suman Bhattachrajee; and Sanjoy Khawas.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The Present disclosure relates to a simple, economical and controlled method for fabricating periodic micro- and nanoscale stripe patterns of nanoparticles. The method comprising the steps of providing a substrate at an inclination angle, followed by depositing at least a droplet of a colloidal suspension onto the inclined substrate, wherein the colloidal suspension comprises a predefined concentration of nanoparticles and a predefined concentration of at least one surfactant dispersed in a solvent, followed by drying the atleast one droplet on the inclined substrate at a temperature in the range of 22 °C to 26 °C, forming a periodic stripe drying pattern with a strip density through solvent evaporation of the at least one droplet on the inclined substrate.
