Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for preparing a substrate for biosurfactant production from jamun seed waste using Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain LS8. Jamun seed waste is cleaned, dried, ground into 7 powder, and subjected to acid hydrolysis to obtain a fermentable substrate. The hydrolyzed substrate is used as a carbon source in a fermentation medium inoculated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain LS8 and incubated under controlled conditions. The method results in the production of a biosurfactant capable of reducing surface tension to about 30 mN/m and exhibiting an emulsification index of approximately 52%. The biosurfactant demonstrates stability over a wide range of pH, temperature, 14 and salinity conditions. The invention provides a cost-effective and sustainable approach for valorizing jamun seed waste and enables efficient biosurfactant production suitable for industrial applications.
