Abstract: ABSTRACT A METHOD FOR SYNTHESIS OF HETEROCYCLIC DERIVATIVES OF PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE WITH SUBSTITUTED AMINES A method (100) for synthesis of heterocyclic derivatives of phthalic anhydride with substituted amines. Further, the method comprisingreacting phthalic anhydride with substituted amines selected from the group consisting of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine, p-nitro amine, and o-phenylenediamine in a condensation reaction. Further, monitoring the progress of the reaction using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) in a solvent system of ethyl acetate and hexane in a 1:1 molar ratio. Further, isolating and purifying the synthesized heterocyclic derivatives. Further, characterizing synthesized heterocyclic derivatives by infrared (IR) spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Visible) spectroscopy. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Further, comprising studying the antioxidant properties of the synthesized heterocyclic derivatives using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical assay FIG. 1
