MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611002159 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras on January 08, 2026, for A Method Of Synthesis Of A Plurality Of Coated Nanoparticles.

Inventors include Nand Kishore Prasad; Sanjula Pradhan; Chinmaya Mohapatra; and Shiksha Tiwari.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an economical, one-step, and scalable method for producing a plurality of carbon-coated metal or alloy-based nanoparticles. The method of synthesis involves one step reduction process in an inert atmosphere in the presence of a solvent that acts both as a carbon source and a reducing agent. The present invention therefore provides a method of synthesis of a plurality of metal or alloy-based nanoparticles that have a reduced inherent oxidation propensity, thereby implicating the applications in the field of wastewater treatment, electrochemical sensing, and application in magnetic storage devices, and electronic components.
