MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611103622 A) filed by Sharda University on August 27, 2026, for A Microwave Imaging System For Breast Cancer Detection Using Compact Cpw-Fed Slotted Antenna.
Inventors include Ngum Breayon Kwe; Manish Kumar; and Dr. Sandeep Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: A microwave imaging system for breast cancer detection comprising an antenna fabricated with a dielectric substrate of FR4 material with a relative permittivity of 4.4, a radiating patch disposed on the dielectric substrate, and a coplanar waveguide feed structure disposed on the dielectric substrate. The radiating patch includes a hybrid rectangular-triangular geometry with a circular slot and a triangular slot integrated therein. The coplanar waveguide feed structure includes a central feedline and ground plane sections disposed on either side of the central feedline. A signal processing unit processes reflected electromagnetic signals received by the antenna to identify dielectric property variations between healthy and malignant breast tissues. The invention provides a low-cost, non-invasive, non-ionizing, portable, and high-resolution imaging solution suitable for future wearable and clinical breast cancer diagnostic systems. (FIG. 4A)
