Abstract: A modular die apparatus for forming a pre-form, a system and a method thereof is described. The preform being structured to be used in casting process to define a cavity in a wheel of a vehicle. The modular die apparatus includes a spoke core forming mold, a stem forming mold assembly, and a hub core forming mold is disposed relative to the spoke core forming mold. Each of the spoke core forming mold, the stem forming mold assembly, and the hub core forming mold being configured to receive granular material through a spoke sprue and a hub sprue defined in the spoke core forming mold and the hub core forming mold, respectively to form the pre- form.
