Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid propulsion system for internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles that integrates electric vehicle technology to improve fuel efficiency, reduce exhaust emissions, and enhance overall vehicle performance. The proposed system comprises an electric motor, a rechargeable battery pack, a battery management system (BMS), a motor controller, an intelligent hybrid control unit, and a regenerative braking system. The hybrid control unit continuously monitors vehicle operating parameters, including vehicle speed, throttle position, battery state of charge, and engine operating conditions, to automatically select engine-only, electric-only, hybrid, or regenerative braking modes. The regenerative braking system recovers kinetic energy during deceleration and stores it in the battery, thereby improving energy utilization. The system is designed as a modular retrofit solution that can be integrated into existing motorcycles with minimal structural modifications, providing a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable transportation alternative. The invention offers improved fuel economy, reduced emissions, enhanced riding performance, and supports the transition towards cleaner and more energy-efficient mobility.
