MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411104359 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 30, 2024, for A Motor For A Driving System.
Inventors include Greeshmita Ravindra; and Ravi Dharwad.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: A motor (100) includes a stator assembly (102), and a rotor assembly (104) includes a rotor core (108) including a plurality of permanent magnets (110). The rotor assembly (104) includes a shaft assembly (106) including a hollow shaft (200) having a proximal end (200a) to receive a coolant within an inner hollow of the shaft (200), and a distal end (200b). The shaft assembly (106) includes a plurality of radial holes (202) and a plurality of axial flow channels (204) such that the coolant from the inner hollow of the shaft (200) moves to the axial flow channels (204) for a multiple of to-and-fro movements between the proximal end (200a) and the distal end (200b) to absorb heat transferred to the shaft assembly (106) from the rotor core (108).
