MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411103421 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 26, 2024, for A Mounting Assembly For Securely Mounting At Least One Electronic Device To A Vehicle.

Abstract: The present invention provides a mounting assembly (100) for secure mounting of at least one electronic device (102) to a vehicle. The mounting assembly (100) comprises a mounting portion (106) located at the vehicle’s body structure (104) and a mounting adapter (110) that securely holds the electronic device (102). The mounting adapter (110) includes clamping members (202) that engage first slots (108-1) of grooves (108) present on the mounting portion (106). When the mounting adapter (110) is moved in a sideward direction, each clamping member (202) locks into a second slot (108-2) of the corresponding groove (108). The first slot (108-1) is wider than the second slot (108-2). The mounting adapter (110) comprises a sealing member (206) circumscribing the clamping members (202) to prevent water and dust particles from entering the vehicle through the mounting portion (106).
