Abstract: A multi-material balustrade (102) for a moving staircase (100) or a moving walkway, is disclosed herein. The multi-material balustrade (102) comprises a first channel (104), a second channel (106, a plurality of first panels (108), and a plurality of second panels (110). The first channel (104) is adapted to support a handrail (105). The second channel (106) is vertically spaced apart from the first channel (104). The plurality of first panels (108) is positioned between the first channel (104) and the second channel (106), such that a predefined gap is formed between two consecutive first panels (108) from among the plurality of first panels (108). Each second panel (110) is positioned between the first channel (104) and the second channel (106). Herein, each second panel (110) is disposed within the predefined gap, such that each second panel (110) engages with two consecutive first panels (108). (Figure 2)
