Abstract: The present invention is related to a multifunctional conveyor system for automated package rejection is disclosed, designed for use in automated material handling and sorting systems. The system includes a primary conveyor belt (102) for transporting packages (101), equipped with proximity sensors (104) to detect package identifiers (103) and identify weight-related issues and barcode discrepancies. A fold-away conveyor mechanism (107) diverts packages with weight irregularities beneath the primary conveyor belt (102), while a swipe arm reject belt conveyor mechanism (108) pushes packages with barcode discrepancies off the belt. Both mechanisms are actuated by pneumatic cylinders (105) in response to signals from the proximity sensors (104). The system further includes a secondary conveyor system for additional sorting of non-rejected packages based on predetermined criteria. This compact, modular design enhances sorting accuracy, reduces manual intervention, and improves throughput, making the system suitable for high-volume industrial applications requiring efficient and precise package handling.
