Abstract: The present invention relates to a multimodal smart home automation system with voice and gesture-based control. The system comprises a voice acquisition module, a gesture sensing module, a home automation controller, an artificial intelligence-based intent recognition engine, a command fusion module, a user authentication module, a security rule engine, and a device control interface. The system receives voice commands and gesture commands from a user, processes the commands independently or jointly, identifies a target device and intended action, verifies user authorization, evaluates contextual and safety rules, and transmits control instructions to connected home devices. The system enables control of lights, fans, locks, curtains, appliances, entertainment devices, alarms, and environmental control devices through speech, gestures, or combined multimodal commands. The invention reduces false triggering by using confidence scoring, command fusion, authentication, and conflict resolution. The system further supports local fallback execution, privacy-preserving processing, personalized gesture mappings, user- specific access control, and adaptive learning for reliable, secure, and accessible smart home operation.
