Abstract: The present invention provides a multimodal spatiotemporal animal signature system (100) and adaptive deterrence method for wildlife intrusion management. The system comprises sensing units (112–118) configured to acquire heterogeneous sensor information associated with an intruding entity. An edge processing unit (120) spatially and temporally associates the information, while a feature extraction module (123) extracts modality-specific features for generating a Multimodal Spatiotemporal Animal Signature (MASV) through a signature generation module (124). A cross-modal consistency module (125) and uncertainty estimation module (126) determine consistency and uncertainty, and an active sensing controller (127) selectively activates or prioritises an additional sensing modality to refine the MASV. Animal classification (128), behaviour analysis (129) and trajectory prediction (130) determine animal characteristics, behaviour and movement. A deterrence control module (140) activates actuators (141–143) according to intrusion risk. Response sensing (150) verifies the behavioural response, and update modules (152, 153) update the MASV and/or deterrence strategy.
