The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for brain-targeted delivery of furano-flavonoid for treatment of Parkinson’s disease. The pharmaceutical composition comprises at least one furano-flavonoid active compound, a biodegradable nano-polymer carrier, and at least one surfactant or stabilizer. The biodegradable nano- polymer carrier is selected from chitosan, poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid), polyethylene glycol based polymer, pegylated polymeric system, or a combination thereof, and encapsulates the furano-flavonoid active compound. The biodegradable nano-polymer carrier protects the furano-flavonoid active compound from degradation, improves solubility and bioavailability, and provides sustained release. The pharmaceutical composition comprises nanoparticles having a particle size in a range of about 100 nm to about 200 nm, a zeta potential in a range of about ±20 mV to about ±40 mV, and an encapsulation efficiency greater than about 75%, thereby enhancing blood-brain barrier penetration and neuroprotective delivery to dopaminergic neurons.
