Abstract: The present invention relates to a Nano-reinforced housing structure for flexible energy storage cells that provides enhanced mechanical strength, thermal stability, environmental protection, and operational reliability while maintaining the flexibility required for next-generation electronic devices. The housing comprises a multilayer architecture including an outer protective layer, a Nano-reinforced structural layer, a thermally conductive barrier layer, and an inner encapsulation layer surrounding a flexible electrochemical energy storage cell. The Nano-reinforced structural layer incorporates nanoscale reinforcing materials selected from graphene nanoplatelets, carbon nanotubes, boron nitride nanosheets, nanocellulose fibres, nanoclay, aluminium oxide nanoparticles, silicon carbide nanoparticles, titanium dioxide nanoparticles, or combinations thereof dispersed within a flexible polymer matrix to improve tensile strength, fracture toughness, crack resistance, and fatigue performance. The thermally conductive barrier layer facilitates efficient heat dissipation during charging and discharging cycles, thereby minimizing thermal stress and improving battery safety. The inner encapsulation layer acts as a protective barrier against moisture, oxygen, dust, ultraviolet radiation, and chemical contaminants, preserving the electrochemical stability of the enclosed energy storage cell. In certain embodiments, embedded sensing elements monitor structural strain, temperature, humidity, pressure, or deformation to enable real-time condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. The housing is compatible with lithium-ion batteries, lithium- polymer batteries, sodium-ion batteries, zinc-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, and flexible supercapacitors. The invention supports scalable manufacturing through solution casting, roll-to-roll processing, compression moulding, injection moulding, multilayer lamination, and additive manufacturing techniques. The proposed Nano- reinforced housing significantly enhances the durability, safety, flexibility, and service life of flexible energy storage systems used in wearable electronics, foldable devices, Internet of Things (IoT) systems, medical devices, aerospace equipment, electric mobility platforms, and other advanced portable electronic applications.
