MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641089686 A) filed by Sathyabama Institute Of Science And Technology on July 23, 2026, for A Nanocomposite For Sensing Nitrite And Method Of Synthesis Thereof.
Inventor includes Dr. G. Murugadoss.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: A nanocomposite for sensing nitrite and method of synthesis thereof are disclosed. Said nanocomposite broadly comprises: iron nitrate; manganese (II) nitrate; polyvinylpyrrolidone; silver nitrate; and sodium hydroxide. Said iron nitrate and said manganese (II) nitrate are in a molar ratio of about 1:1. Said iron nitrate and said silver nitrate are in a molar ratio of about 1:1. Said iron nitrate and said sodium hydroxide are in a molar ratio of about 0.025:1. Weight of said polyvinylpyrrolidone is about 1 g. The disclosed nanocomposite (and/or method) offers at least the following advantages: improved electrocatalytic activity; improved performance and stability; fast electron transfer; reduced oxidation potential; and/or increased sensitivity towards nitrite detection.
