Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel pharmaceutical formulation based on nanogels for the treatment of skin cancers, such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. Along with pharmaceutically approved excipients, the formulation includes guar gum (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) as a natural polymer and Citrus limetta peel ethanolic extract as a bioactive anticancer agent. A modified emulsion solvent diffusion process is used to create the nanogel, which is then homogenised and sonicated to produce nanosized particles. It has appropriate physicochemical characteristics, such as high stability, skin-compatible pH, good spreadability and nanoscale particle size. The present formulation controlled and prolonged release of bioactive chemicals improves skin penetration and delivers locally. When compared to the pure extract, biological investigations show enhanced cytotoxic action. By lowering systemic toxicity and increasing therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of skin cancer, the innovation provides a biocompatible, biodegradable, economical, and environmentally friendly substitute for traditional therapies.
