Inventors include Solanki, Arun Kumar; Das, Pooja; and Jayamurugan, Govindasamy.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a one-pot, noble metal-free synthetic process for the preparation of a compound of Formula (I) and/or a pharmaceutical acceptable salt, solvate, hydrate, polymorph, isomer (including enantiomers, diastereomers, and geometric isomers), ester, ether or a mixture thereof. The process comprises: a) reacting an o-aminophenylacetylene compound (1) and a 1,1- dicyanoethylene derivative (2) at a temperature of 80-95 °C, in an organic solvent, to yield a dicyanovinyl-substituted dihydroquinoline intermediate compound (3); b) oxidizing the dicyanovinyl-substituted dihydroquinoline intermediate compound (3) at room temperature, in anhydrous acetone, to form a dihydroquinolin-4(1H)-one intermediate compound (4); and c) treating the dihydroquinolin-4(1H)-one intermediate compound (4) with a mixture of iodine and DMSO at a temperature of about 80-100 °C followed by addition of sodium thiosulfate to precipitate the compound of Formula (I). The compounds of Formula (I) and the various intermediate compounds are also disclosed.
