Abstract: The present invention relates to a saliva-5 mimetic, low-volume dissolution apparatus designed for evaluating sublingual dosage forms under physiologically relevant conditions. The apparatus comprises a reservoir (1) for containing simulated salivary fluid (2), a pump and flow control unit (3) configured to regulate fluid delivery, and tubing (4) providing fluid communication to a drip nozzle (5). The 10 drip nozzle (5) is positioned above a dosage form holder (8) and is adapted to deliver the simulated salivary fluid (2) in a controlled, droplet-wise manner onto a sublingual dosage form, thereby enabling non-immersion exposure. The dosage form holder (8) is supported on a funnel with stand (6), with a filter (9) positioned below the holder to separate undissolved particles from the released drug15 containing fluid. The filtered fluid is collected in a collection vessel (7) comprising a magnetic bead (10), which is actuated by a magnetic stirrer (11) to maintain homogeneity of the collected medium. The apparatus is suitable for testing a variety of sublingual dosage forms including tablets, films, strips, wafers, and lozenges. By operating under low-volume and non-immersion conditions, the apparatus reduces 20 excessive dilution associated with conventional dissolution systems and enables reproducible evaluation of drug release under simulated salivary conditions.
