Abstract: ABSTRACT A NOVEL CERAMIC COATING HAVING ALUMINA WITH IN-SITU FORMED NANO REINFORCEMENTS AND THE PREPARATION METHOD 5 The present invention provides a corundum abrasive grain with in-situ formed a ceramic coating, wherein the coating is a nanostructured coating varying from 0.3 to 3 by weight percentage based on the weight of the raw grain with a coating thickness of 5 µm; said coating comprises multi-component oxide 10 of fine boehmite, binder, optional bond material and optionally one or more additives. The present invention also pertains to a method of producing the corundum abrasive grain with a ceramic coating as described in the description.
