Abstract: ABSTRACT A NOVEL ENGINE ASSEMBLING FIXTURE The disclosed invention an engine assembling fixture for an internal-combustion engine is disclosed. The fixture comprises a wheeled base frame, an upright support structure and a rotary support member for rigidly mounting an upper crankcase. The rotary support member is mounted on bearings for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis and is driven by an indexing drive mechanism having a manually operable actuator and optional reduction gearing, allowing 360° rotation and locking at selectable angular positions. A height-adjusting mechanism, such as a screw jack, varies the elevation of the axis and can stabilise the base by lifting wheels from the floor, enabling safe, ergonomic assembly and disassembly.
