The paper-based microfluidic pH sensing device comprises a porous paper substrate (105), a conductive electrode pattern (110) deposited on the porous paper substrate (105) by a stamping deposition process, wherein the conductive electrode pattern (110) comprises a first portion 111), a second portion (112) and a central sample cavity (113) formed between the first portion (111) and the second portion (112)of the conductive electrode pattern (110), wherein the first portion (111) and the second portion (112) are identical with each other and at least one microfluidic channel defined on the porous paper substrate (105) by a hydrophobic barrier (114) formed on the conductive electrode pattern (110).
