Abstract: The present invention provides a peer-to-peer DC microgrid energy trading system (100), comprising a grid-interlinking converter (GIC) (102) associated with each DCMG (101) for interfacing the DCMGs with the upstream distribution grid, wherein the processor is configured to implement an asynchronous alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to coordinate peer-to-peer (P2P) power exchanges and electricity trading prices among the DCMGs (101) in a decentralized and privacy-preserving manner, wherein the peer-to-peer DC microgrid energy trading system (100) operates under a one-phase peer-to-peer trading framework that jointly optimises P2P power exchanges and flexible trading prices in a single optimisation phase, and wherein each DCMG (101) independently performs local optimisation updates without requiring synchronous coordination with other DCMGs, thereby enabling scalable, delay-tolerant, and decentralised energy trading within the DC microgrid community.
