Abstract: Abstract A PHASE-AWARE TRANSFORMER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED EJECTION FRACTION ESTIMATION FROM ECHOCARDIOGRAPHIC TIME-SERIES DATA The present invention relates to a system (100) for automated estimation of ejection fraction from echocardiographic volume time-series data. The system (100) comprises a memory (104), at least one processor (102), an input module (110), a phase-aware masking module (120), a transformer-based encoder (130), a multi-task decoder (140), and an output module (108). The phase-aware masking module (120) identifies systolic and diastolic transition points and selectively masks cardiac-phase-critical temporal segments to generate masked volume data. The transformer-based encoder (130) generates latent feature representations therefrom. The multi-task decoder (140) reconstructs masked temporal segments, classifies cardiac phase, and generates an ejection fraction estimate. The encoder (130) and decoder (140) are jointly trained using a composite loss function. The output module (108) generates a report signal representative of the ejection fraction estimate for display on a display unit (106), enabling clinical assessment of cardiac function.
