Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process of obtaining a polyphenol enriched 5 extract from Ecklonia cava, the process comprising, extracting a biomass of Ecklonia cava with an extraction solvent to obtain a first extract; and subjecting the first extract to fractionation using a first eluent followed by subsequent elution in presence of a second eluent to obtain the enriched extract, wherein the first eluent is water; and the second eluent is a mixture of ethanol and water in a weight ratio 10 range of 40:60 to 85:15. The present disclosure also relates to a polyphenol enriched extract from Ecklonia cava, and a composition comprising the polyphenol enriched extract from Ecklonia cava.
