Abstract: A Porous Composite Matrix Comprising Industrial & Agricultural Waste And A Process For The Preparation Thereof The present invention provides a porous composite matrix with adequate compressive strength, utilizing bulk amounts of industrial and agricultural wastes to solve the disposal problem of waste. For proper and homogeneous binding, the waste materials were mixed with cement and blended with water. During the development process, no chemicals, additives or external energy were used for preparation of the composite matrix. The developed composite matrices have a wide range of applications in the fields of civil and environmental engineering such as permeable pavement blocks, partition walls, adsorbent for pollutants, substrate/media for treatment of wastewater in sewage treatment plants like constructed wetlands, trickling filters etc. The developed composite matrices can be cast in any shape and size for their applications.
