Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable diabetic neuropathy screening device (100) comprising a base plate (101), a main enclosure (109) disposed on the base plate (101) and housing a processor, a galvanic skin response sensor, and a Bluetooth communication interface, a pneumatic bladder (107) disposed on an upper surface of the main enclosure (109), an elastic conductive fabric layer (105) disposed on an upper surface of the pneumatic bladder (107) and having a first electrode (105a) and a second electrode (105b) embedded therein, and a foot-securing strap (117) to retain a foot of a user. The pneumatic bladder (107) and the elastic conductive fabric layer (105) cooperate to establish stable contact between the electrodes and the skin of the user upon inflation, and the processor determines a conductance-drop value from galvanic skin response signals and transmits an output signal based thereon via the Bluetooth communication interface.
