Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for real-time driver monitoring and accident risk assessment using a portable, vision-based embedded processing platform. The system comprises at least one camera module capturing visual data of a driver's facial region and a vehicle speedometer display, an embedded processing unit executing a driver state analysis module for detecting drowsiness and distraction based on facial feature metrics, and a speed assessment module for determining vehicle speed via optical character recognition or analogue dial reading techniques. A decision management module aggregates detected risk conditions, applies a configurable priority hierarchy, and triggers auditory alerts through an alert generation module without issuing any control command to any vehicle actuator. Structured event records are logged locally and transmitted wirelessly to a companion application supporting role-based access. Figure 1 is the representative figure.
