MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611066660 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on May 27, 2026, for A Prestressed Composite Modular Structure To Mitigate Accidental Explosion Effects.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a A Prestressed Composite Modular Structure (PCMS) (102) to mitigate accidental explosion effects. The PCMS (102) includes a plurality of prestressed wires (104) placed externally in a horizontal orientation and in a vertical orientation equidistantly forming a prestressed wire mesh (104a) over a prefabricated modular structure (110). The PCMS (102) includes a plurality of turnbuckle arrangements (106) comprising a first side and a second side fixed to each end of the plurality of prestressed wires (104) maintaining the plurality of prestresses wires in a prestressed state. The PCMS (102) includes a plurality of U- type clamps (108) fixed along a length of each prestressed wire amongst the plurality of prestressed wires (104) to maintain a stationary state of the plurality of prestressed wires (104) with respect to a lateral swaying while mitigating the accidental explosion effects caused during an explosion of the prefabricated modular structure (110).
