Abstract: The present disclosure provides a process of synthesis or manufacture of copolymers from the polymerization method from an alpha-methylstyrene and styrene monomers, with varying weight ratios of monomers, wherein the copolymerization reaction of alpha-methylstyrene and styrene was monitored by taking refractive index (RI) measurements using a Refractometer. The present disclosure provides a silica loaded composition comprising the copolymer prepared by the process as disclosed herein, for use in the tire tread applications, expected to improve the Rolling Resistance (RR), Traction or Wet Skid Resistance (WSR) and Wear or Abrasion Resistance properties.
