Abstract: ABSTRACT A PTPE cable joint closure kit and its process of cable sealing thereof [0043] The invention provides a PTPE cable joint closure kit comprising a plurality of prepreg elastomers and a prepreg sealant wherein the plurality of prepreg elastomers includes a plurality of harness tapes and a plurality of PTFE sheets. The prepreg elastomers are made from latex resin, carbon black, pine oil and lead oxide, respectively. Each PTFE sheet are reinforced with glass fibres and have splits at the ends to make it flexible enough to bend over the ends of the joint. The prepreg sealant further comprises an uncured elastomeric rubber and an activator/catalyst including polysulphide sealant and iron oxide wherein the amount of iron oxide directly impacts the curing time of sealant. The process of joining any cables using the kit comprises the steps of wrapping of harness tape, application of sealant, wrapping of two layers of PTFE sheets, application of sealant, final wrapping of harness tapes and curing.
