Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: A Rapid Hardening Cementitious System for Instant Concrete Road Repair The present invention is focussed on the development of precision repair mortar with instant cure, fast setting and rapid hardening property. This mortar has a pourable consistency and engineered designed for precision application like to repair road cracks, disrupted and disintegrated structures instantaneously. The mortar is composed of tri blend cementitious system of OPC, CSA-CS and GGBS along with fine silica sand and additives. The cementitious raw materials i.e. OPC, CSA-CS and GGBS and their blended system are characterized by many techniques, such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), physical and mechanical tests. XRD analysis confirms the presence of anhydrite and calcium aluminate phases in the CSA-CS system. XRD analysis of the blended cementitious binder after hydration shows the presence of ettringite as the predominant phase. SEM confirms that the blended binder system after hydration exhibited the presence of both ettringite and C-S-H gel together. The compressive strength of the mortar exceeds 45Mpa and 80 Mpa strength after 1 and 28 days of curing respectively. It attains the hardness of 7 and 8 (in Mohs scale hardness) in 24 hrs and 72hrs of curing respectively. With respect to the base concrete road structure it is much harder. Thereby protect the road or other structures from massive abrasion loss and gives a better integrity, ensuring longer service life.
