Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a real-time attendance management system and method. The system comprises a controller, a near-field communication (NFC) reader, a local wireless access point, and a memory storing registered device identifiers associated with respective students. An instructor is authenticated using an NFC credential, upon which the controller activates the local wireless access point for a predetermined time window. During the time window, student devices connect to the local wireless access point, and the system acquires a device identifier and a received signal strength indication (RSSI) value associated with each student device. Attendance is validated only when the device identifier matches a registered device identifier and the RSSI value satisfies a predefined classroom proximity threshold corresponding to a physical classroom boundary. Attendance records are generated and stored locally, and an artificial intelligence model may analyze attendance records to detect anomalous attendance patterns and generate alerts.
