Abstract: Interviewer questions that unintentionally serve as stand-ins for legally protected traits, such age, family status, handicap, or national origin, are usually discovered, if at all, after the interview is over. The streaming natural language processing (NLP) system described in this paper can identify such phrasing in real time during a live interview and produce a compliant rephrasing proposal within a latency budget that is compatible with spoken conversation's natural pause structure. Behind a lowlatency interviewer-facing overlay, the system integrates streaming automated speech recognition (ASR), a multi-head phrase-risk classifier, a confidence-and- latency gate, and a limited rephrasing generator. We outline the architecture, provide an example implementation, and present evaluation results for five different types of protected-category proxies. We also talk about the limits and future research possibilities.
