Abstract: ABSTRACT [0017] Object classification in self-driving cars is highly dependent on timely and accurate perception of the environment. 4D point cloud data or streaming 3D Point Cloud Data, which has both spatial and temporal information, offers rich data for this purpose. Nevertheless, conventional classification frameworks tend to fail with the latency caused by processing point clouds as static snapshots, resulting in delays in decision-making and processing. In this project, we introduce a new paradigm that classifies objects directly from streaming 3D point cloud data, which enhances real-time performance. With the exploitation of the continuous nature of the data, our method distributes computational workload across data acquisition time, avoiding peak load and enabling quicker and more efficient object classification. The primary aim of this project is to classify and visualize the 3D objects in 4D Point Cloud Data or streaming 3D point cloud data.
