Abstract: The present invention relates to a remote-operated railway track cleaning robot designed to provide a safe, efficient, and low-cost solution for removing dirt, paper, plastic, and other solid waste from railway tracks. The system comprises a handheld remote-control unit equipped with an ATmega328 microcontroller and an RF transmitter for sending user commands to the robot. A corresponding RF receiver in the robot unit decodes the signals using a second ATmega328 microcontroller, which controls the locomotion motors, cleaning brush motor, and vacuum-based waste collection mechanism. The robot incorporates an ultrasonic sensor for obstacle detection with an audio alert system, and an IR sensor for monitoring waste tank fill level. A rechargeable battery or solar-powered supply enables eco-friendly operation. By eliminating the need for manual cleaning in hazardous track environments, the invention enhances worker safety, improves cleaning consistency, and provides an uninterrupted, effective track maintenance solution suitable for railway stations and high-traffic rail corridors.
