Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a rotary operated mechanism (ROM) (100) for a moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) (200) which includes an enclosure (102) having a handle (104) positioned initially at OFF position; a key assembly (106); and a gear assembly (108). The enclosure (102) is configured on the MCCB (200) having a switch (202) positioned at OFF position. The switch (202) is housed within the handle (104) for being moved from OFF position to ON position by the handle (104) that is being externally torqued. The key assembly (106) operatively coupled to the handle (104) for locking the handle (104) in OFF position. The gear assembly (108) configured between the handle (104) and the switch (202) to lock the switch (202) in OFF position upon locking the handle (104) in OFF position, allow the switch (202) to move from OFF position to ON position when torqued by the unlocked handle (104), and return of handle (104) to OFF position when handle (104) stops being subjected to torque.
