Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a saw-setting plier (100) configured to hold a saw blade (10), bend selected teeth, and advance the saw blade (10) by a controlled indexing distance. The saw-setting plier (100) comprises a saw-setting assembly (102), a blade holding assembly (128), an indexing assembly (136), and a transmission assembly (158). Actuation of a second jaw (120) moves a pressing element (122) and a tooth-bending element (112) to bend a selected tooth and transmits movement through a rope (168), a pulley (170), and a slider (160). A stepped gear (144), a first rack element (150), a second rack element (152), and a third rack element (154) cooperate with a fixed holding plate (140) and a movable holding plate (142) to release, advance, and re-grip the saw blade (10) for successive alternate-tooth setting operations.
