Abstract: The present invention relates to a scott-connected transformer system (102) for efficiently converting three-phase power to two-phase power, particularly for railway electrification and industrial applications. The Scott-connected transformer system (102) includes a main transformer (104a) including a main primary winding (114a, 114b) having a first end connected to a three-phase power system and a second end in a series connection, and a main secondary winding (116a, 116b) configured to generate a first phase (O1) of a two-phase system. The Scott-connected transformer system (102) further includes a teaser transformer (104b) connected between the three-phase system and a center tap (M) of the main primary winding (114a, 114b) having a teaser primary winding (120a, 120b) having a first end and a second end, and a teaser secondary winding (122a, 122b), configured to generate a second phase (O2) of the two-phase system.
