Abstract: The present invention discloses a self-emulsifying drug delivery composition for oral administration of poorly water-soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients. The composition comprises an active pharmaceutical ingredient, an oil phase, a surfactant phase, a co- surfactant phase, and optional precipitation inhibitor or dosage form carrier. The preconcentrate forms a fine oil-in-water dispersion upon contact with aqueous gastrointestinal fluid under gentle agitation. The composition improves solubilization, dilution stability, dissolution behavior, and dosage form adaptability, and may be provided as a liquid-filled capsule or solid self-emulsifying dosage form.
