MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411091843 A) filed by Chairman, Defence Research & Development Organisation Drdo on November 25, 2024, for A Self-Healing Polymeric Material And A Process For Preparing The Same.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a self-healing polymeric material and a process for preparing the same. The self-healing polymeric material comprises: a) 25% to 95% by weight of an ionomeric polymer, and b) 75% to 5% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomeric polymer, wherein the self-healing polymeric material is characterized by having a melting temperature in the range of 88 °C to 98 °C, thermal stability in the range of 260 °C to 380 °C, and shore D hardness in the range of 35 to 60.
