Abstract: A self-neutralizing injectable hydrogel (100) for reversible occlusion of a biological conduit. The system comprises a stimuli- responsive polymer matrix (101) capable of undergoing sol-to-gel phase transition under physiological conditions to form a localized occlusive depot, reversible cross-linking module (103) comprising chemically labile linkages, and a bioactivity modulation module (105) retained within the polymer matrix to locally modulate biological transport. The hydrogel system includes a neutralization trigger interface (107) configured to interact with an externally introduced biocompatible trigger agent, endogenous physiological conditions, and degradation control module (109) operatively coupled to the reversible cross-linking module. The neutralization trigger interface initiates cleavage of the reversible cross-linking module, resulting in disassembly of the polymer matrix, conversion of occlusive depot into flowable state to restore conduit permeability without physical removal. The invention provides a method (200) of manufacturing the hydrogel system with controlled integration of functional modules, enabling reproducibility, scalability, and predictable reversibility.
