Abstract: ABSTRACT A shaping tool assembly and method for manufacturing of Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) stent rings A shaping tool assembly and method for manufacturing of Shape Memory Alloy stent rings comprising a central rod (8) with locking nuts (11) (12) at both ends, a first half cylinder (1) mounted on top half of central rod (8) having stent profile at one end and the other end in contact with the locking nut (12), a second half cylinder (2) mounted on the bottom half of central rod (8) having stent profile at one end and in contact with the locking nut (11) at the other end. The closed-type tool is more efficient, and provides for better positioning as well as a self-locking constraint mechanism for the stent ring wire during heat treatment. The manufactured shape memory alloy stent rings can have wide range of structure configurations, and are integrated with fabric to form a variety of stent-grafts for treatment of several endovascular ailments and abnormalities.
