Inventors include Dr Sushanta Ghosh; Dr Bipin Kumar Sharma; Dr Surajit De Mandal; Dr Lovely Rahaman; and Dr Nandita Nath.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a simple and cheap method of producing a liquid based Metarhizium spp using very low cost media composition and with the help of wide stainless-steel dishes or food graded plastic dishes in an efficient way so that an ordinary farmer or any person also easily can do it at the farm level. Metarhizium is produced under submerged conditions using boiled potato water supplemented with sugar and vinegar. The method achieved very high yields of spores and greater biomass cultivation efficiency. The invention's technical scheme allows for the production of up to 5.3 × 1012 cfu/ml substrate of Metarhizium conidia, and the sporulation yield is 100 times higher than that of the previous method, thereby improving yield and reducing costs. The process reduces substrate consumption, enables efficient fungal colonization, simplifies harvesting, improves space utilization, and provides a cultivation support system suitable for an ordinary farmer or laboratories, and pilot-scale industrial applications.
