Abstract: A method (1000) for determining infiltration of a slag composition (102) in magnesia-oxide-carbon (MgO-C) refractory bricks (104).The method (1000) includes segregating a molten mixture of slag and steel from a furnace in separate containers. Further, the method (1000) includes preparing by grounding the solidified slag into a fine slag powder. Further, the method (1000) includes pouring the fine slag powder into a central hole (104a) of a MgO-C refractory brick (104). Further, the method (1000) includes heating the MgO-C refractory brick (104) along with the fine slag powder in a furnace at a predefine temperature for a predefined period. Further, cooling the heated MgO-C refractory brick (104) under control conditions. Further, determining infiltration by measuring penetration of the slag composition (102) into the MgO-C refractory brick (104).
