Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous assistive mobility system for visually impaired users. The system comprises a dual- core microcontroller operating under a real-time operating system, wherein a first core is dedicated to continuous environmental sensing and real-time hazard detection and a second core is dedicated to user communication and wireless audio transmission with isolated task execution for deterministic performance. The system has a multi-zone Time-of-Flight sensor configured for forward and ground-plane scanning to generate a spatial depth matrix representing a three-dimensional environmental profile. An embedded edge machine learning module processes the depth matrix to identify and classify hazards such as stairs, drop-offs, static obstacles, and moving objects based on spatial discontinuities. A Bluetooth A2DP interface enables direct audio communication with a user-worn device, while a redundant feedback subsystem provides audio and haptic alerts with automatic fallback. The system operates independently of external devices, ensuring low-latency, real-time, and reliable hazard detection and user notification.
