Abstract: ABSTRACT A SMART ASSISTIVE WALKING STICK WITH AUTOMATIC HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT, MULTI-ZONE OBSTACLE DETECTION AND DIRECTIONAL HAPTIC GUIDANCE The present invention discloses a smart assistive walking stick (10) for visually impaired persons. The walking stick comprises a telescopic stick body (20), height sensing unit (21), motorized height adjustment mechanism (22), mechanical locking mechanism (23), multi-zone obstacle sensing unit (24), animal detection unit (25), processing and control unit (26), haptic/vibration units (27), rechargeable battery (28), USB Type-C charging interface (29) and removable non-burning mosquito-repellent module (31). The height sensing unit determines the user's required stick height during setup and the motorized mechanism adjusts the telescopic body accordingly, followed by mechanical locking. The multi-zone sensing unit monitors left, front-left, centre, front-right and right zones for detecting obstacles. The processing and control unit determines the spatial position of detected objects, evaluates available walking directions and selects a safer available direction. Directional information is communicated to the user through distinguishable haptic/vibration patterns. The animal detection unit provides a corresponding warning upon detection of a nearby animal. The rechargeable power system enables portable operation and charging through USB Type-C. The invention provides an integrated assistive system combining height adjustment, environmental sensing, safer-direction selection and haptic guidance.
