Abstract: ABSTRACT [0017] Content moderation is an important aspect in managing online communities, particularly YouTube where audience engagement is a key measure of success. As creators grow and develop their audience, they are confronted with having to manage enormous amounts of user comments most of which are comprised of spam, irrelevant, or even abusive comments, repetitive questions. Traditional moderation strategies, although effective in the initial stages, become manpower- intensive and inefficient at scale sizes. They also do not offer richer, actionable insights into viewer's emotions and expectations. Additionally, strategies such as fuzzy latent- topic detection and sentiment analysis are typically insufficient in the detection of actual emotional undertones and sophisticated thematic patterns, thus in reducing their overall performance in audience feedback understanding. [0018] To address these challenges, a Smart Comment Manager system was proposed that uses the potential of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to automate and significantly improve the comment analysis process. The system offers an intuitive and seamless user interface to creators so that the comment moderation process becomes more efficient through hate speech identification, spam detection, duplicate viewer question clustering, and trending discussion topics identification in real time. All these features combined overall enable the creator's ongoing efforts to build a positive, respectful, and engaging community environment, and to enable quicker and more meaningful interaction with their audience.
