Abstract: This project introduces an IoT-based smart fire detection and automatic mitigation system intended to enhance safety and emergency response in industrial and commercial settings. The system is composed of an array of real-time sensors such as flame, gas, humidity, and temperature sensors, along with a camera module, all networked using a centralized IoT platform. The sensors constantly monitor environmental conditions and identify early warning signs of fire-related risks. Upon detection, the system initiates an automated response chain that involves triggering sprinklers, taking incident photos, and issuing GPS-tagged emergency alerts to emergency response teams. During experimental trials, the system revealed a 100% rate of detecting fires, alert transmission time of less than 2 seconds, and low false positive rates, facilitating prompt and accurate hazard identification. Incident images and environmental information are computed locally and applied to inform stakeholders in real-time notifications. The system also has remote monitoring features, enabling safety staff to monitor from remote locations. With a reset time of about 8 seconds and full alert messaging (fire status and accurate location), the model provides stable operation and minimal human intervention. The system is designed to be adaptable and can be scaled for use in different high-risk environments such as warehouses, factories, and public infrastructure. Future versions can come with AI-predictive model capabilities and cloud analytics for superior performance and availability.
